Is That REALLY in My Drinking Water?

Mary Allen, an overworked single mother of two, moved to Cedar Park about a month ago. Moving was hard, but worth it, since she was now only fifteen minutes away from her job at the supermarket and even closer to the school her kids attend. Out of nowhere, she noticed that both she and her kids were suffering from stomach cramps. She thought at first the problems might have been due to some takeout from a new restaurant she tried, when the issues persisted for over a week, she knew something was wrong. After trying various home remedies that didn’t seem to help, and being put on a three-week waiting list to meet with a doctor, she knew she had to try something else. She needed a solution to the problem as soon as possible.

Luckily, a friend from work told her to try testing her water since she had tried just about everything else. Following her friend’s advice, she ordered a home testing kit from Nova Biologicals and, within 24 hours, was informed that her tap water, the water she and her kids had been drinking regularly, was riddled with the bacteria, E. coli. After learning this, Mary bought a water filter and informed the health department. The following Friday, both she and her kids were back to normal and drinking water that she now knew was safe and clean.
