When Dr. Pearce returned to the show for Part 2, he got a bit more personal, discussing his reasons for getting into the study of bacteria and microorganisms. He talks about nursing home and healthcare testing, which protects sick, vulnerable people from hospital-acquired infections. In addition to that vital work, Dr. Pearce works in other countries to ensure people have access to clean water, including providing portable water testing kits for areas that don’t have access to labs. 

Of his work, Dr. Pearce said, “It’s been a dream come true, to do what I love and love what I do.”
